Abstract

The aim of this article is to obtain a common history of the encounters of heroes in Shahnameh with antiheroes (non-human) creatures in its historical course in Tahmasbi's illustrated Shahnameh in order to examine the semantic evolution and the role of these humans and antiheroes. seeks to answer the following questions: 1. What is the classification of the works in question and the placement of the hero and antihero in the images under study in relation to other image elements? 2. What are the aesthetic aspects of the role of the hero and antihero in Tahmasbi's Shahnameh? This research is fundamental in terms of its purpose and is in line with understanding the hero and antihero in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and how they are represented in painting. The research method is descriptive-analytical. Also The method of collecting information is library resources, online and taking notes through two methods of written documents and observation. Therefore, considering the subject under study, a research sample has been selected and examined purposefully.The results of the research indicate that Ferdowsi's use of the symbolic aspects of themes and characters to express narratives, with various mythological, religious. Dthe hero and the anti-hero are used with supernatural characteristics, and the role of the anti-hero lacks beautiful elements and proportion from an aesthetic perspective.
