Metaverse is a virtual world based on the Internet, which in connection with Web 3, the blockchain network, the Internet of Things and digital currencies has provided a form of virtual life. Among the categories that are raised in this world is the market of buying and selling works of art, which is generally known as NFT; Now, considering the many components that exist around the creation of these works and what they are and their authenticity, the issue is, what kind of work does the buyer of these works buy in terms of ownership rights, and how is their authenticity and art being determined and recognized in the Metaverse. This article aims to understand the nature and authenticity of digital works of art, and examines the components that give credit to digital works in the world of metaverse. What is analyzed by referring to two approaches of intersubjective reality and institutional theory. Intersubjective reality means the agreement of metaverse users that NFT works are art and have value, and the institutional theory, by calling the NFT work art, officially brings it into the world of art. This, with the entry and presence of powerful institutions such as galleries and prestigious auctions, has made the works of art presented in Metaverse become official in today's art world.
